The Rolling Stones hardly ever license their music, so to
have their songs for the six remaining bands tonight is very, very nice. So
which American band will perform the best cover of a British song inspired by
American blues? Let's find out here in the global market!
The first band performing tonight is Très Bien!. Seeing as how they were inspired by
the original British invasion, this pairing should work out nicely. Their song
is "Get Off Of My Cloud." Hey! Hey! You! You! Rzeznik! What did you think? He
thought it was great. Sheila E. liked it but reminds the band to tune their
guitars before the performance. Once the audience figures out what that means,
they boo. Dicko thought it could've been better.
Next up is Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, who will probably
perform that one Stones song with the horns and stuff. "I'm Free." That's the
one. Well, the original didn't have horns, but what are they supposed to do?
According to Dominic, it was another great performance. According to the judges,
good and bad. According to the audience, boo.
Sixwire will be performing "The Last Time." Will this be the
last time? They don't know. Yet. They'll be able to answer the question next
week. Until then, let's rock! Johnny loved it, Sheila E. loved it and Dicko
loved it. Perhaps this will not be the last time then. But only your votes will
decide! Bum bum ba!
Fourth up is Light of Doom. Mick Jagger has tunics older than these kids.
They will be playing "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Are the judges jumping for the
effort? Not really. They wanted a little more vocal harmony.
Only two more bands will get a chance to take the stage tonight. The Clark Brothers are one of them. They have a flying V
guitar on stage and will be performing "Gimme Shelter." Besides Denver -
for obvious reasons - the Clark boys are putting the most unique spin on
the song tonight. Will the judges go for it? Well, the standing ovation might be
a clue.
Dot Dot Dot. Cliff Wagner and the Old #7. Who stays? Dot Dot
Dot! "Let's Spend The Night Together." Johnny was surprised by how much he liked
it and says DDD keeps getting better. Sheila E. mainly liked it and Dicko gives
it a B-. An audience member yells out "B+! B+!" Just wanting a tiny bump, it
seems.
And that's it for this week. |
